Cartridge 1 - The pre-filter is a Sediment filter for removal of sand, silt, dirt and rust particles etc. This acts to prolong the life of the solid carbon filter.
Cartridge 2 - The carbon filter removes chlorine, chloramine, pesticides, chemicals, insecticides and minimal heavy metals. This is a solid carbon filter, not to be confused with GAC (granulated activated carbon) or cheaper versions.
Cartridge life is 8-10,000 gallons.
